Welcome to the First Fall Issue of STM News @ USF Libraries
Welcome to all new faculty and graduate students! Welcome back to all current faculty and returning graduate students! This is the first fall issue of STM News @ USF Libraries. There have been quite a few changes over the summer at the USF Tampa Library:
- The Information Commons on the first floor of the Tampa Library has been expanded into the Learning Commons. The main Reference and Research Desk for the Tampa Library is located in the Learning Commons. In addition, the Writing Center, under the direction of Pat Maher, has moved from its previous location on campus to the first floor of the Tampa Library. The Writing Center is staffed by graduate-level English students who can help students with their writing assignments.
- Information Technology (formerly known as Academic Computing) still maintains a full-service computer lab for students and faculty but has expanded their Help Desk Services to include the help desk services from CAS Computing. The Information Technology Help Desk is located across from the Reference and Research Desk, directly behind the printers.
- The Tutoring and Learning Services (TLS) have also moved from their previous location on campus into the Tampa Library. TLS, also under the direction of Pat Maher, will be housed on the second floor of the library and will provide learning support services for Math, Science, and many other subjects. There will also be a small TLS Computing Lab that offers tutoring in math, reading, and writing.
- PRONTO, Reserves, and Digital Collections have all moved from the lower floors up to the sixth floor of the Tampa Library. Now located within the Faculty Research Suite, these areas are currently under construction, so "Pardon our Dust" while these facilties are settling in. This area is usually a quiet space where faculty and PhD students can come to work. Just be forwarned that right now, there may be some hammering and sawing going on while you are here! The Research Services & Collections librarians offices are still located on the sixth floor, within the Faculty Research Suite. Stay tuned for more information on when everything has returned to normal. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
